Loved everything about this condo!
There is a traditional coffee maker and no slow cooker, just so you know.
Love the ski in/out location. Will be back

Unit 513 seems old and is in need of refurbishment. Both showers leaked continuously. We had to close the door so we could sleep. The freezer rack was rusted. The sofa bed has clearly seen better days. The heater in the two-bed room smelled as it burned the dust that had collected there.

Unit was good. I believe the water heater has a failed heating element, as the hot water was limited. Otherwise, everything was good / as expected. Thanks.
Great place to stay

Very clean and well appointed unit with easy access to the slopes. All appliances were in good working order. There was plenty of room for our group of 4.

On-site Washer/dryer is a huge plus for warm day skiing. Convenient to dry gloves hats when taking break. Enjoy the mountain View from the living room! Wifi password provided but did not mention which wifi to log in but eventually got connected after trying about 8 times.
Unit was perfect for our group

We had two couples and this worked out great. Plenty of room and a great view of the slopes. The deposit policy is archaic. We had to bring $1K in cash and won't receive the deposit back for up to 30 days. Normally you just put down a credit card. Only downside to the trip.
Overall ok

We stayed for a few days mid-January. The location was a quick walk to the new pool/hot tub area. Remember to bring your pool towels! The unit had not been turned over when we arrived and the front office/housekeeping addressed it fairly immediately so we went out for dinner to give them some time. The view from the condo was fun for the kids to watch snowmakers and skiers leaving the Oma chair. Oma’s meadow is a blue so my new to skiing kids needed ski school and a drive to the base each day. The condo has several issues with furniture. The back top corner of a lazy boy has torn fabric and staples sticking out so we put a towel over it to protect those walking by it. The other lazy boy is broken and difficult to extend/retract. Kitchen had adequate amount of cookware, sheet pans, dishes, kettle and coffee maker.
Bedspreads/duvets are old, torn. The heating is very sensitive and fickle so we erred cooler. I wish there were more hooks to hang the snow clothes, pool towels and our bath towels. We got creative. We could not turn off the overhead fans in either bedroom. The shower pressure was great. Overall we had a great time, we were comfortable and everything was overall ok.

Great place, Property description was accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities. Easy after hours check-in. Great location ski-in ski-out, short walk to top of slope! I would also recommend Banner Elk Cafe, its a short drive but great food and service.
Comfortable beds and furnishings.

We came for a family reunion and to visit family and enjoy the beauty of the mountains. We were very pleased with our location and the unit that we stayed in. We cooked meals and with the help of foil pans and paper plates we did ok. The TV situation in that there is only one set and it is a small 32" or about that size set. The tube TV does not work at all and just takes up space on the dresser. The living room had some good seating and was comfortable. Bedding was good. The master closet was almost full with no room to put luggage and hang our clothes. It needs attention. Everything in the kitchen worked.
It was clean and neat other than the master closet.
Great kitchen well equipped

This unit had so many nice homey features that some of the other units we have stayed in did not. The kitchen had a wonderful supply of pots, pans, and cooking utensils . They even had ample bowls that made my cooking very enjoyable. We loved the comfort of the king bed. So comfortable. I saw fans I. The closet for those hotter days which we really appreciate even though we did not need them in October. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will come again.
Great Condo!! Steeper trail than anticipated

Great condo for skiing. Even on the first floor you have to take steps down to get to the door. Plenty of kitchen ware, but over full as there was not a cabinet that was empty to put the food we brought. It had great heat as we never got cold and the sliding doors were not drafty. The road to the condo was a typical top of the mountain terrain, so you would need chains or a 4-wheel drive to get there.

This was a very nice rental. It has been very well taken care of. Super clean.
The master bedroom mattress has worn out. When sleeping you are trapped in a bowl on both sides. It made it impossible to sleep next to my wife. We both would roll away from each other. We both woke up very sore and fatigued. This is a simple fix... get a new mattress. We would not rent this property again "ONLY" because of the sleeping condition.
Simply Perfect!

Weekend Getaway
Paula W. from Winston Salem, NC

We showed up to our rental, and we had to supply our own wood for the fireplace which was disappointing. We had problems with the tv in the living room not working due to the cable box wouldn't stay on we called the office and they don't have office hours on the weekends which make no sense, we called the other 2 numbers provided by the office for help if need for anything wrong and never go a answer just busy signals so never received help with the cable box. The hot water heater breaker kept tripping, so the hot water would have to heat up once we reset the breaker. The rental information online said the rental came with a grill and showed a picture of a small grill on the back balcony when we got there, there was NO grill for us to grill food on another disappointment. The mattresses were super hard and cheap as were the pillows, it was really the worse rental we have had in years and we are not hard to please. I have only given 1 other unsatisfactory review in my lifetime.
Perfect location to Oma's Meadow Lift

We spent Christmas in this condo and had a great time. The access to the lift was excellent. There was firewood available when we arrived, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We will rent again.
Location is great.

Very good for the $. Nothing fancy. It was easy to check in and out. Only problem I had was with a $45 fee or else you have to put $1000 deposit with a money order or check in advance. You can't use a credit card which is stand process. So 99% will opt to pay the $45 fee to waive the deposit. Other than that I would stay here again.
Could use a freshening up and a new couch. Shows wear badly.

the place was very convienent at the top of Omas. The kitchen lights were not very bright. The twin beds were very hard. and the TV in the master bedroom didn't work at all. The rest of the condo was nice but dated. We always have a good time at Sugar Ski, but this year the place was not as nice as some of the other condos we have stayed in over the last 8-10 years.

This unit needs some updating regarding the furnishings. However the location is why we stay here . Heat and hot water work great . Kitchen could use some better pots and pans . Would stay here again just maybe not this unit .
Condo on slope

Location was great...easy access to a blue slope and a lift. Condo satisfactory, but it had multiple light bulbs either not working or missing. TV in master BR didn't work. Need instructions on Wi-Fi and TV operation in the living room...I figured it out, but router needed resetting.
Good for Pro Skier

The access to the lift was good just for pro skier not for beginner. We couldn't use WiFi and sofa bed. This condo was nice but needed to be updated. The sound of heater was too loud.
Manager Responded on 4/11/2021
Every Condo at Sugar Ski & Country Club has wireless internet. Thank you for letting us know the guest book with the WiFi information was missing from the unit, and the sound from the heater. Those issues have been addressed and corrected. I hope you'll return to stay with us to ski again, or enjoy the other seasons on top of Sugar Mountain.

I was hesitant on renting this place due to how small it looked in the pictures. I definitely do not regret booking the stay. It was much larger than expected. It was nice and cozy. It is outdated but still a great place to stay.

The condo space and location was perfect for our family.
There was an issue with the lights and fans not working properly.
Hated that the pool and hot tub was out of service but understand the situation.
There were so many of the same dishes, I had little space to put up what food I brought.
convenient location, excellent view

We checked in after the office was closed (this was planned in advance). After unloading the vehicle, we noted the refrigerator was hot...even though it was running. I called the after hours maintenance number and within a few minutes the gentleman showed up. It was determined our best course of action was for us to move to a different room. The maintenance man was already in touch with Cody (sales/rental rep) and he was seeing what was available. A suitable replacement was found, which was actually an upgrade. The maintenance man helped us reload our gear as well as unload it into the new condo. All was well! My thanks to everyone there for handling this issue very professionally. Stuff happens....stuff breaks...and I do understand that is was just one of those things.
Room 513: The condo was very spacious with a well appointed kitchen (which is so lacking in most rental condos). We found everything clean and neat. The beds were comfortable and the two twin beds in the 2nd bedroom was just what we needed so it worked out fine. We were very pleased!
Nice and Convenient

We arrived at 10:30pm and even though the office was closed, the keys were ready for us. All appliances worked, everything was clean... Nothing else to say except it was a great place to return to and get warm after enjoying the slopes.
