Easy ski in - ski out. Old furnishings and building. Hot water not available 1 of 3 mornings. Nice clubhouse facility. Great for 4 who are there to ski

review of 834

This was our fourth stay at this complex, our first in this unit.
This unit was my least favorite. No soaps or coffee filters were provided. The unit is very dated; even the light switches have yellowed.
That being said, all of the heaters worked great, no issues with the TV or internet. It's always amazing to ski in and out at the top of Oma.

Easy for skiing, 2 couples

The checkin process was very easy, and we weren't able to get there until after hours. I received a call making sure I had all the details, which was nice.
A few complaints/observations:
1. While we brought coffee (knew they had a coffee maker) we didn't think to bring filters
2. There were a couple of socks left behind one of the bedroom doors from previous visitor, as well as an empty beer bottle on balcony, and some popcorn on floor of living area.
3. One of the lamps in bedroom didn't have a lightbulb

Ski weekend

Great place right on slopes. Great views of slopes. Stickler for check in time. Only 2 bedrooms with beds unsure how the last 2 guest were supposed to sleep. We made pallet in floor with pillows.

Excellent place to stay!!

Lovely!

We stayed for 7 weeks, so our review may have a different 'flavor'.... We were pleasantly surprised by the overall quietness of the place. The only times we had any issues were the occasional weekend renters who hosted parties in the apt next to us. This happened several times, but, although loud for most of the evening, they all shut it down before midnight. Lovely facilities, helpful staff, beautiful location.

Every thing you need!

Great location to the BLUE Oma Meadows lift! Unit is dated but does provide every thing one would need except a blow dryer; so make sure you bring yours.

Nice apartment with great view on top of Sugar Mountain.

It was very clean and all in order. The only recommendation is that the Coffee Maker does not shut off automatically, it will remain on forever unless is turn off manually, a bit dangerous. Other than than, all was great.

Great location

Property was in an excellent spot directly adjacent to one of the slopes up sugar mountain. Definitely great to have your own gear. Was advertised as sleeps six, but only had two beds and the couch did not pull out. Other than that lovely views and super convenient to the Banner elk town and the mountain itself.

Great location for Sugar skiing

Comfortable condo overlooking Oma’s Meadow. Two bedrooms with king beds and two bathrooms were great for two couples. There is a bar area with wine glasses and extra seating. Hot water wasn’t great when both showers were going. The ski locker out front was broken and unusable. The coffee carafe was missing, but quickly replaced.

weekend ski

The overall stay was good. The location is great, if skiing, VERY convenient. The lodge was noted to be open in February 2021, but was completely closed, with no pool nor hot tub. This unit has listed that it has a sleeper sofa, but it's only a sofa, so that made it difficult for sleeping arrangements. the unit does need some attention, with updating some general maintenance. Also needs better pots and pans for cooking in the rooms, b/c there is NOT a lot to choose from regarding dining out that's convenient.

Very nice location

We had a good time. Unit was ok however the bathroom needed better cleaning. Also some remotes and lights didn't work

Everything you need for a ski vacation (as long as there’s snow!)

This place has everything you need for a good ski Holiday and then some. No, it’s not a large modern lodge, but it’s cozy and comfortable, with good mattresses and a kitchen with the essentials. Sugar Mountain was making snow for just enough to have one long run off of Summit Express, which meant a .3 mile hike from the condo to skiable snow, but it’s still shorter than the hike from the parking lot at the bottom of the hill to the lease of the lift. We’d definitely stay here again.

Be aware, If you’re skiing, the lift shuts down at 4:29, not the 4:30 they say. In other words, don’t plan on the lift guys to give you any sympathy to get back to the top so you can go home. Either be at the lift by 4:20 or have a fallback plan for how you’ll get back to the top of the hill. Yes, we got to the lift at 4:29 and they said “it’s closed.” Fortunately we had someone who could drive down the hill to get us. I’m told there is a shuttle on weekends and holidays, but that didn’t help us on December 21. That’s not the fault of this VRBO property, just be aware.

Otherwise, a good place to stay, and the clubhouse has a pool, sauna, hot tub, and very nice staff!!

Great location and comfortable

Great location for ski in and out if you are above a beginner level skier. Comfortable, great views. Roads up the mountain were kept clear. Needs some updating and a deep clean (base boards, medicine cabinets, bathroom walls). All the condo amenities worked. Very nice new pool ( heater was broken unfortunately), sauna, jacuzzi which we used.

Peaceful, comfortable, very clean accommodations

Excellent fall stay

Unit was very clean and everything worked. View is amazing, especially while visiting in October for the bike park with leaves changing. A short ride from the unit to the trails. Only complaint would be that the bed was quite firm, but that is a personal preference.

Sugar Ski & Country Club - great place!

This was a great vacation - the unit was clean and ready to use. Had great views and a good location on the mountain. Staff were very helpful. Highly recommend!
