Description
This is a second floor efficiency condo in building 10. Free WI-FI. The living room has a flat-screen 32" TV, and queen sleeper sofa. The kitchen is fully equipped with many accessories with seating for 4 at the dining table. There is a queen size bed in the alcove area. From your private balcony you will see a nice mountain view and a view of Oma's Meadow. This unit does not have a washer/dryer. There is a coin operated laundry on property. Our new clubhouse is now open for our guests with an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, & fitness room. The property also has tennis courts and outdoor grilling areas. **No wood burning fire place**

We had a great time at Suagr ski and country club! The unit had everything you could need and had an amazing view! It was very convienant to be able to walk right on and off the slope. Would definitely stay here again!

We were moving our son into Lees-Mcrae college and decided to rent here. It was great! Beautiful view, just enough space and the kitchen is fully stocked. We have already booked it again to come back in Sept for our son's first cross country meet!

High country Festivals

We did enjoy the time at Sugar and the visiting the 2 festivals. Except at night when we were trying to sleep the neighbors were loud and rude. The property next door at 10-203 was very noisy Friday and Saturday nights until
well after 1 am. People were coming and going out the doors, slamming them, talking loudly, and playing music with at least 7 people present, 3 of whom were young crying children. We could not sleep because of the noise especially when the adults were all on the deck Friday night. The deck was about 3 feet from our bed. Sunday was wonderful because they all left. The ski suites are great unless you have rude, loud neighbors. We did enjoy the Linville winery, Bella's and the Savannah oyster house. We loved the hiking at Moses cone and Linville Falls. The colors were beautiful on the blue ridge. I'm not sure what could have been done about this situation as the Management Office was closed Saturday night and Sunday.

There was a sign on the front door telling us not to use the fireplace. A wood burning FP was in the property description This was not mentioned when we rented the unit. There was an acrid cleaning smell which we tried to air out. The dining room chairs were wobbly and the caning was broken. The carpet was absolutely filthy with multiple stains everywhere. Basics like a spatula were missing. We tried to contact the office when we arrived but the building closed early for maintainence work. We would never stay in this unit again. I expressed these concerns to the manager and was told she would contact the owner. We have gotten no response back.

We love Sugar Ski! We have rented a home place here almost every year for about 10 years. It's a beautiful place with views like no other place we have seen. The staff are great. There is so much to see and do in the area. We look forward to coming back each year.

Comfortable, clean condo was convenient to the ski slopes and offered a wonderful view of the mountains. The unit was pleasant, offering cable TV, WiFi, and a handy little kitchen making it easy to prepare meals. The unit was small but plenty big enough for the two of us. Would definitely do a do-over.

I was up to see the Scottish Highland Games at Grandfather mountain, and this place was close, comfy, and a spectacular view. The ladies in the office are great as well!

We enjoyed our stay with Sugar Ski and Country Club in Banner Elk. The room was very cozy and had alot of personal touches. It is as advertised. Its very close to the Omas Meadow slope and chairlift. Only about 50 yards away from the room. Also you can rent your equipment there and ski down. We would recommend this room and would stay there again.
Great accommodations. Ski resort itself is marginal.

Sugar Ski and Country Club was a good experience from an accommodations perspective. Easy folks to work with and nice place with easy access to the slopes. However, Sugar Mountain Ski resort, which is a separate entity from the accommodations, has poor customer service. The largest hassle is that you can not purchase multi-day or even full day/night tickets. Every single day you have to ski down the mountain, take off all your **** (and your kids **** if you are buying kid tickets since they want to see they are really kids) and walk around to stand in line and buy your tickets for the day. Then you have to do the same thing again for the night. Every day you get to do this ridiculous routine, twice a day. It takes away the benefit of spending the extra money to stay on the slope. We wound up leaving and going to other resort slopes since it was the same amount of effort. My ratings are based only on the Sugar Ski and Country Club. Sugar Mountain itself gets a "dissatisfied".

This was a last minute trip so we were not sure what to expect. We were pleased with the accommodation and felt it met our needs. It was clean and had more room than expected. The only thing I can say negatively about it was the hide away bed was very uncomfortable for my kids and seemed to be in of repair. If you have just 2 people and no use for the hide away, then I highly recommend it. We will most likely stay in a 2 bedroom next time. Great service and amenities.
